I was very close to do streaming of my #gamedev session last night, but I was very tired 😭 and I though I would write some code instead.

I'd like to get back to stream 2 to 3 days a week, but it is hard!

Also, I suspect this project using Haskel is even more niche than when I was streaming retro gamedev 😅

Obviously, all this ignoring the fact that I'm a Haskell newbie, I'm probably "doing it wrong", and all that.

This is how boring things get sometimes 😂

(I'm kidding, this session was pretty good! So go figure!)

Oh, BTW: looks like the sdl2 binding for #Haskell is missing a high-level interface for gamepads.

It has one for Joysticks, but I really want to use the gamepad abstraction (so I can check if button A is pressed/released for example).

I was considering contributing that part.

I mean, it wasn't that bad calling SDL.Raw.gameControllerOpen; but compared with the rest of the API, this needed a good amount of head scratching and about 45 minutes of WTFs.

@reidrac We'd happily accept a high-level wrapper you probably have now 😉
