@falken @askonomm well, 99% of OSS packages lives on Github, you can't do otherwise. This doesn't mean depending on them though, since Composer is compatible with many other platforms (and bare Git repos), so if MS does something weird, you can just migrate your git repo elsewhere and restart anew.
