@sil @slightlyoff because nobody believes Apple and Google will make it easy enough to be popular. Won't even move needle against their entrenched positions. Sadly

@falken @sil @slightlyoff lots of us believe! All of this is a choice. I think the easy explanation is the incentives are unfortunately toxic. Media businesses depend a lot on advertising. No need to extrapolate how talking negatively about Google/Apple duopoly could hurt that.
