New blog post: Alternatives to the term 'enshittification'

I asked here for people's suggestions for alternatives to "enshittification".

I don’t swear, and so it is not a term I will use.

I got lots of suggestions, but , IMHO, nothing so far which I feel really works as well as the original, for me.

@neil I quite like the "Platform Decay" as it describes the fall from grace that many services exhibit.

The "digital shrinkflation" matches people's experiences but, ultimately, it's better to say the thing rather than the phrase - so "higher cost, lower quality" fits best.

@Edent I sort of like it, but I also think that decay feels like a passive thing. Something that just happens, rather than it being an intentional, considered, choice.

So...hmmm....
