@jansegers Thats not exactly how it works. First off the date is december 14th, and if a state hasnt finished counting, or if the state is undecided, then it will not effect the fact that the electorate still gather and still vote. In such a case the elecorate will vote regardless of any official count or otherwise.

So even if trump forces a recount or takes a state to court it wont stop things from moving forward and wont trigger a contingent election.
