Well, you see- after a certain amount of time in one's lifespan, one outgrows birthday spankings and 'a pinch to grow an inch'. After that, all one does is break down in some way or another around their birthday.

Since freemo didn't have a mental breakdown, he sacrificed his leg to the bday gods who demand annual violences on each person's bday.
