I wonder if @stux will say it was a "mistake" this time too.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice? Nah I'm good with once.
What did he suspend you for? In the past he has seemed pretty fair, very well could have been one of his moderators or something? Did he suspend the whole server or just you?
He is a good guy, so I hope he doesnt take this the wrong way, but he is also very anti-confrontation, to a fault.. So **if** he did legit suspend you it wouldnt surprise me if he didnt talk to you about it or explain it just to avoid the confrontation.
Im not sure I blame him so much for that character trait as I do the fediverse. He wants to please people and the fediverse is so hyper judgmental the only way he can do that is avoiding talking about stuff like this in the open. So he might be reluctant to comment.
@freemo @stux I suppose that's fair enough; I just feel like if he did this on purpose, and he wants to respond, he should.
I'm not particularly upset about this, so much as if this means when he did it last time it was on purpose as well. (I had an alt there before and got banned for disagreeing with #BlackLivesMatter during the #SummerOfLove; when I complained, he said it was a mistake, and I chalked it up to Tony Stark of #HeroesResist (now of democracy.town if that instance is still up) being a mod at the time, since I was kinda beefing with him over the apparent astroturfing campaign those folks were carrying on). We're friends, or at least we were, and I'd hate to think that he had lied to me.
I doubt it was due to Tony Stark.. .that guy put some lies on their ban of QOTO at one point and stux defended me and confronted him about it...
I'd be really surprised if he is still friendly with a POS like whoever runs the tony account. In fact he seemed pretty glad tony left his server and moved to his own due to his rather radical opinions. That said I dont want to speak for stux, this is just my interpretation of how he responded to him in the past.
He banned my instance from democracy town, not from stux's instance. But Stux confronted him on it after he left. Not for banning, he can do what he wants on his instance, but for blatantly lying about the reason.
I mean Tony was advocating violence at one point... So no surprise stux seemed to publicly distance himself really. Smart move on his part I'd say.
It was quite a while ago... I'd have to dig it up... it started a bit of a fuss for a hot minute there.
Well I never said the stir was onthe mastodon side... It was, as to be expected, the centrist and right leaning folks who were upset with it. Afterall everyone is divided down party lines first and foremost.
