Democrats entire agenda: "Orange man bad, vote for me"
Republicans entire agenda "Senile man bad, vote for me"
Everyone else: Could you please maybe feed us instead of kill us?
@collin I find the demo, the republican, and the moderate to all lack enlightenment... Americans are so far from any sense of enlightenment you simply wont find it anywhere on the political spectrum there.
@freemo
This seems like willful ignorance? Both parties are bad, in some similar and some different ways. But there is far more to it than what you suggest here.
@ceoln i mean, its not meant to be a detailed critque obviously.
@freemo Yes sir it's the red vs. blue agenda/controlled opposition. Render the entire population divided in half so no work can be done.
@freemo Actual question i as a non-american have:
On a scale of "law prohibits it" to "people just don't vote that way", how impossible is "Can i has third party?" in the land of 1.5 party democracy?
It's possible, but unlikely due to herd mentality.
When the day comes that politicians stop playing highschool quad social drama games, we might actually have more diversity.
Currently, if you're a serious politician- you need to pick 'a side' to play dodgeball on. Otherwise you won't get far in your political career. That's why it becomes a big deal when a high ranking politician changes 'sides' or even goes 'independent'.
@lucifargundam @freemo Why is it the politicians that need to stop playing drama? The idea behind a democracy is that the voters decide. They seem to not want anything to change from what the 1.5 big parties have been doing.
We have this problem to a lesser extent, but still. Very little mobility towards third parties despite clear indications that the established parties will not improve things. Truely baffling.
But at least i got an inside opinion that it would be possible without changing laws. Best wishes for next time!
>> Why is it the politicians that need to stop playing drama?
<< Because politicians gatekeep others from joining the scene.
>> The idea behind a democracy is that the voters decide.
<< Yes, but voters do not directly (if at all) decide how the big issues are handled or which individuals are put into office.
>> They seem to not want anything to change from what the 1.5 big parties have been doing.
<< They do, but don't do it well in the fact that they haven't made any changes despite voting in the best interest to improve things.
@lucifargundam Oh... right, you had some system where voters vote for people that are supposed to vote for a candidate, but don't have to, right?
Basically. More information here::

@lucifargundam I just started and it looks even crazier than i thought...
@EvilSandmich @freemo @lucifargundam
Hmm, a bit hard to understand, but i'll try.
Do you say that any party in germany ever tried to import an infinite (or high) number of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mechanical_Turk ?
Are you saying that the AFD is pressured by their voters to be a carbon copy of the NSDAP or rather by other politicians?
Is the comparison meant so broad that you call the trump presidency ineffectual, as the AFD never was voted into any gouvernment office?
And lastly, i am kind of confused if you left out the part where the AFD is more neoliberal than any other party and uses their neonazi vibes to get neonazis to vote for them, or do you not care about that part?
@EvilSandmich @freemo @lucifargundam
Hahaha, this is gold! [Trump] "his stance on universal buttsex", wonderful. Best joke i heard in a long time!
But don't be confused by the mechanical turk, it was not actually an automaton or "savage", it was actually operated by a human.
@admitsWrongIfProven well we have had third parties become primary 8x and evertime they were in single digits one or two elections back... so fairly likely as long as people stop pretending its not.
@freemo I think this is drawing an equivalency between the two sides that doesn’t exist and isn’t true.
I find the “enlightened moderate” to be about as enlightened as Republican’s promoting conspiracy theories.
