@RushGirl That seems like a pretty poor analogy... Two sides both disagreeing on a bill or law, and thus holding up the government, is not the same as some random people blocking traffic.
Not saying the republicans are innocent, but to think the democrats are sooo willing to compromise and make bipartisan efforts and its the republicans who are to blame is just not the truth.. both sides are polarized, neither side compromises anymore.
I mean your link is a highly-biased non-news source... so even before clicking it I'm suspect it will be useful... But I suspect I know what conflict you are referring to anyway so I dont need to.
And no, it wasnt republican vs republican... it was democrat vs republican where 5 dissenting republicans could have been enough to swing it but nearly the entirety of democrats also opposed it so people are saying some nonsense where it was blocked due to 5 republicans disagreeing and ignoring the fact that other than those 5 all democrats and all republicans disagreed from the get go... so its kinda nonsense to blame the 5 republicans that dissented and not the 210+ democrats who dissented.
@freemo @RushGirl I just grabbed the first one that popped up in my search. If you don't like the source there are others. Doesn't invalidate my point.
Every time I run into you, you are pushing this same agenda, and no matter what anybody says to you, you always try to turn it around. I've nearly muted or blocked you I don't even know how many times now, but you carefully walk just this side of the line. It feels like you are trying to weasel your way in and plant seeds of doubt, which gives me an icky, icky feeling, like I'm being manipulated. I think it's time I finally follow through on my instincts. Goodbye.
That's alot of words for saying "You have a nuanced outlook and dont just agree with the masses on one side or another of an issue"...
I am quite impressed with your ability to make a compliment into an insult, impressive.
That is me... very strange to block someone for saying they will make an effort to be kinder to people... but ok.. if that is why you block people sounds like you are doing me a favor blocking me.
This you Dr Freemo? Blocked.
@shsbxheb @freemo@qoto.org @hosford42 @RushGirl I blocked the prick too...😂
That is true..
Doesnt change the fact that any 5 people could have voted for the bill an we wouldnt be at a stand still... So why blame the only 5 republicans who didnt vote for it, and caused a deadlock, and not the 210+ democrats? Seems to me the democrats wanted this deadlock MORE than the republicans, but a pretty large margin.
@sdgathman @BobClinton @freemo@qoto.org @RushGirl here we have another "they are all the same" argument, which again is just not true, republicans generally raise the national debt & democratic generally reduce it. Blocked...
Then make the argument "The motivation of these 5 people was shit"... and I would whole heartidly agree with you. You would be fine to argue that their motivations are worthy of contempt for those 5 people.
To blame them for the shutdown, however, is a poor argument, and a different one than the one your making now.
You think that was mean? My apologies. I took your friendly jjab and banter at joking and was trying to return it in like kind. Sorry it hurt your feelings, that wasnt the intent.
Also never supported Trump a day in my life.
@freemo @RushGirl This is republican vs republican, making your point moot from the start. Not that I would have agreed with your both-sidesism anyway.
