I am no expert but seems we have two types....
The bullpup lookign design appears to be an IWI tavor: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IWI_Tavor
The other one looks like a submachine gun, I dont see a magazine so likely ribbon loaded.
Seems the other one is an IWI Negev: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IWI_Negev
@realcaseyrollins I love myself a good bullpup... more barrel for the same length gun.
Particularly nice if you want a short gun since shortening the barrel is quite restricted.
@freemo So, I don't know my gun stuff very well. What is a bullpup? And the bullpups in the picture have extensions, right? What type of extensions are those?
> So, I don't know my gun stuff very well. What is a bullpup?
A bullpup is a design where the barrel of the gun excends into the butt stock of the gun. So the entire gun becomes a barrel rather than 2/3rds of the gun as in a usual gun. This arrangement requires more complicated loading mechanisms.

If by extension you mean that piece on the underside of the gun, then yes. That's a grenade launcher attachment.
@freemo That's interesting! What are the benefits of using a bullpup in comparison to other weapons? I'd assume that making it harder to load adds a safety component to it.
Ah, I wasn't sure what they were. In videogames I think I've seen similar extensions used for smoke grenade launchers but I wasn't sure if that'd make sense in this context.
Bullpups may jam more easier due to the complex mechanisms, but you really need to evaluate that on a model per model basis.
The biggest advantage is you get a longer barrel for the same size gun. Longer barrel means more accuracy at range.
There is the added benefit of your ejected bullets not flying in your face.
Outside of military the main benefit is you can have a shorter gun while still being legal as the barrel is the legal size. This is an advantage in close quarters where a shorter gun gives you an advantage around corners.
@freemo Ah, very cool! I'll try and keep that in mind, although I'd probably never buy a bullpup IRL
Why no bullpup?
@freemo I'm thinking there'd be three ideal weapons for me to own, if I have a considerable amount of land especially:
1. A handgun, for general or mobile use, particularly to bring when travelling
2. Some sort of midrange semiauto weapon, in case I were to be attacked by multiple people
3. Some sort of sniper rifle, if someone is intending to kill me or my family and I can see them coming from quite a ways off
Perhaps a bullpup could be used as a midrange weapon? But it's not exactly what I've (albeit vaguely) had in mind.
Bullpup is ideal for midrange since they are lighter and shorter for the equivelant non-bullpup.
If its just a preference in style then yea, do what makes you happy. But other than that sounds like you dont have any reason to rule one out.
@freemo nice nice 🤩
