Wait…how come #P2P group chats don’t work, but the #Blockchain works? Aren’t #blockchain nodes connected through #P2P methods?
🇳🇱
Depends on the app, most are not P2P at all, some are, at best, decentralizaed.
@freemo When I say #Blockchain, I’m thinking of the ones used for cryptocurrencies like #Bitcoin.
@realcaseyrollins Yes I figured thats what you mean.
But not most chat apps are decentralized and not peer to peer.
Blockchain, well, like i said, that depends.
@realcaseyrollins It will eat your battery very fast :(
@realcaseyrollins
There was a really big (as in they raised a fuckton of ICO money, like millions) one called Status, on #Ethereum. I'd expect they no longer exist
@freemo
@realcaseyrollins
They raised 270M in just 3 hrs:

You can "sign up for early access", 6 years later..
This is the classic ICO story. Raise and disappear.
@stevenroose That’s pretty funny 😂
@freemo Hmm. Has anyone tried making group chats with a #Blockchain model?
