@enbyss I mean, I don't go there anymore. I lurk on there a little bit, and it's definitely gotten worse.
But people being generally shitty? For the most part I just *didn't see that* because it would get hidden in replies.
Twitter understood that they had to build for scale, this place doesn't seem to want scale. So anytime someone like me is here, I just have to deal with the firehose.

The harassment on fedi is something that was many times discussed, as well as the poor culture, in general.
The #UFol seems dead, and as I remember, some people behind it were attacked here. I think, but I am not sure now, someone behind #UFol even ended up with a heart attack after getting a "bomb" of disturbing messages.

It was worse than that. Death threats were made on their life including a very graphic video of a murder that was sent along with the threat... It was quite nasty stuff. It was also what killed the UFoI as no one was willing to be part of an organization if people were literally threatening to kill anyone who joined.

To give a bit more context, people were threatening and accusing me as well.. So i stepped down and gav eup all authority to a new democratic leader in a show of fairness, and was willing to withdrawl QOTO and have my server apply once the org was established.
But since he seemed like an easier target to scare than me (I assume) he got death threats and eventually stepped down as well for his own health. So apparently QOTO was less of the problem than people claimed since even withdrawing didnt help
