Testing Potentially Slow Software...
@maltimore True / it could be slow BUT need to test it sometimes to get right assumption of that answer
(see below for test examples to help make it clear if it's program or your machine or something else)
- run a portable copy (is there difference when you run this version?)
https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/thunderbird_portable
- Run on fresh machine or safe mode or using base /generic drivers (seems lots of progs really can put a spanner somewhere and slow everything from graphics to other components in/on the system/sharing etc) so having a test running safe mode can help (or use a family computer to test it !)
- Go back 10/20 versions or previous main revision (e.g. run Thunderbird 50 or 70) which I can confirm is fast... nobody needs the newest version once a product is that good (and you can read the changelog . security updates of course to make sure)
- The latest is still needing feedback (which hasn't happened yet in time so they might have made changes that are yet to be known and new changes not even important). This seems to be happening with Firefox testing things.
Ok that's it.
PROBABLY have some more for you if you have no joy!
