Choosing Poitical Providers: Maybe not from U$A in future!...
@twann I'm similar for the feeling for GitHub etc
then seeing their email is..... Gmail...
errr... it's increasing political and now I decide not to email.
Someone else will catch it.
So yes it's getting very political (choices who we email and who people are provided by as their host is important politically, because our hosts are also undoing our work using their models as US as their users and planning evils for us)
SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT TOPIC (MASTODON)
Mastodon has solved all this as it's instant and I actually believe they got their message safely or get the favourite button notification signals that well.
Great to know I have been read / acknowledged! And without any 3rd..10th party involvement and copies of emails as evidence!)
With Gmail you also just never know something is received;
a) spam floods are diluting legit emails
b) you have to rely on people checking emails (at all since they do things on Facebook)
c) and then they have to remember to reply! (is quite hard after 10 emails)
Perhaps the manual process of it is why people choose other ways... and to filter out people like me who have lots of time and perhaps ask too much of offer help! :)
So it's intentional to some extent or slim / slipstreaming but also not the glue for people to get together (or only the same bods) more than different levels to glue which is needed and I think we are learning out of I think and trying to be inclusive, if not responsive saying no!
TOO FAST TOO FURIOUS CODING
I get the feeling techies need to have everything supd up, HIGH SPEED and so this adds to this ultra-high-tech-efficient-BLOCKING... kinda -dont-have-time-for-humans-because-I-haver-so-many-machines-to-feed,,, and that setup naturally avoids humans... obviously because yes they are perhaps trying too hard to save the world via machines and/or feel that it's conveniently doing well doing everything high speed when it's missing the lower speed fun also.
(maybe I'm wrong as people don't really care to talk anyway or need others, they just need machines and users)
(some I guess is fair to avoid / filter people but eventually I think everyone is what we're aiming for like some kind of cult to *re-culture* EVERYTHING FROM THE WAR MACHINES )
hang on war.... and machines....
DOH!
BACK TO PROVIDERS
Long term I think NO even to U$A backends, but we are learning yes - even the great 'I' had to DEL a million gmail accounts - quite fun actually and LESS all-you-can-eat is for the way like you would avoid BURGERS all the time!
It's very likely having it LE$$ about 'EFFICIENCY' is more about JUSTICE (big words I know)...
and if you consider all the backends we use in America, if we don't give/take data form there that's an isntant win every second, the same ways as it's quite a loss every second unless it's only for encrypted back (encrypted on your side not after transfer)...
So to justify using such 'efficient' USA-style ways ends up using INEFFICIENT POLITICAL PEOPLE (POLITICAL ENTITIES like Microsoft / Google / YouTube in most cases) and buying into that = affiliating away from our own shitty people / tech or open source (even if it's true it can't handle all-you-can-eat)
So this is the real injustice when the balance is the real justice and that is needed is what is needed I think more than lots more platforms of more of the same.
'Shitty' but loved like it's ours and being improved as people since we are there and not in USA Disneyland. :]
(this is what I say to people who say there isn't a big choice on PeerTube...and I say:
- NO WONDER, BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT THERE!! (people have to use it too)
- TOUGH JUST WATCH WHATEVER ELSE IF YOU'RE REALLY JUST KILLING TIME!
(so lots of bias here but constructively towards for incremental change and not self-harm!)
Dealing with decent people 1st and Mastodon like ways... forgive my mixing things up but it's ALL political and we are tracing / undoing it all from bottom to top! USA back to ourselves!
