@jens

Guess why I prefer to use invidious instances rather than YouTube… and it has nothing to do with profiling!

@GustavinoBevilacqua

It's based on similar things as above? (it would help if you said it in this different context)
Thanks

@freeschool

Actually nowadays it's almost impossible to see a YouTube video without too many ads, and the most of them, which I suspect are expensive, are from charities.

Damn, if I see a starving kid I don't take a photo of him to pay someone to ask money to other people, but I give directly to him all the food I can!

For 0 ads or to download directly
try yewtu.be

for example:
yewtu.be/watch?v=GKDY5YMpyUc

Although I encourage this way if you really feel you need YouTube as I use it less and have music offline for example or really if need research is something specific.

@freeschool

Yes, yewtu.be is one of the invidious instances I use, both to look and to link.

Many others are here:

api.invidious.io/

But often other people use links to YouTube, and for short videos I don't always retype the URL.

@GustavinoBevilacqua

Yup you need just to discipline the vid ID into any existing yewtu.be URL

so taking the VID ID
(example GKDY5YMpyUc)

and adding it to
yewtu.be/watch?v=

and you get

yewtu.be/watch?v=GKDY5YMpyUc

:D Not so hard in the address bar of browser to get URL :D

@freeschool

I made my own local javascript page where to insert a youtube url and get an invidious link, but sometimes I'm lazy ;-)
