I still prefer using FTP-type-stuff with password protection (but before reactions call it #sshfs or anything similar)
https://qoto.org/tags/sshfs
so for alternative @stevenroose I suggest that and tweaking it... the same as we were using way back when with simple password or close circle / rotating passwords / IP restrictions whatever... I still see it for a lot of uses...
it's so much faster as drag and drag it's literally like your own file system... try renaming a file in any other interface or mass deleting lots of videos (even for peertube etc I'd prefer people just download and deleted the vids than the weight and processing /interface/ streaming and then moving things oh god ! With 'FTP' just move shit ! Keep the text file and video and any other doc with that dir, navigate dirs, rename them lol... it's a dream for an already nitegrated file system $0.00 on any server!!)
So embedded into every linux server helps (or use docker type stuff and much I don't understand) - it's quite solid or can be tweaked and used still by Debian community :p which is a sure sign!
Could have written this better but seem an obvious choice was and is still there... and newer version (as remote storage link)...
Someone agree with me here or add what they found best in this 'FTP' / SSHFS type realm :)
