Don't anything about this but a few answers in general could be:
- times change
- it's 'business' <--- in the various forms it could mean
- experimentation (jumping from one to the next and 'done that' kind of thing)
- Just to put material out there
- It's marketing
- It's being torn between many people telling them what to do or their direction perhaps

And failing these guesses maybe ask them / look for interviews!
(probably unlikely but I guess try find out if important!)
