Technology's weak point is the ability to calculate real cost.
And anyway the cost is 'A LOT' since it pulls in just about all the other resources and sciences to get done making it superior but fragile (like a Lamborghini used on different terrain... looks nice and work occasionally super but bit of different terrain and the Lambo fails pretty quick.
When you have so many chains, factories, parts for factories, factories for factories... quite possibility it shifts the cost and hides it (man hides it from other man in a forever nested process inside another).
And then if that cost is at the beginning to the end arbitrary (set by man to whatever it wants for others to abide by) this means primitive technology probably wins long-term as it has less fault points and less extended bridges to get to a final product
So while natural / primitive products are 'poor' compared to space-aged type tech, actually it's a bit more honest (planet based) and not nesting things or moving the cards from one side to the other to pretend it words.
(e.g. one Japanese company stopping to make specific parts / O-rings might well stop many oil rigs from operating... and no oil means no life)
You could pick many parts and you could stop a car or industry from working almost 100%.
So while nature or primitive technology doesn't get the job done 100% and isn't superior now, in the future it would at leat work 100% (with will power) compared to say a inoperable factory or broken down vehicle and no bigger vehicle to take care of the small.
Kind of Mad Max film or Primitive Technology..

Tech Tools are like this ....
Many things inside too many more things...
Losing track of values and costs.
Then wrapping it with yet another layer,
Fragile or Snowball Dependency
@freeschool
Yes!
Even if you can make gears "by hand" (not using electrical or steam or water powered machines) you still have to rely on some other tools, like in this video.
