@RTP Without reading (probably making a fool of myself) I'm going to guess the main reason or faulty points to be needing to
- buying a decent VPN / money trails ?
- still having some of the traffic detectable through VPN ?

Article covers many track methods not protected by VPN alone (but VPN can still help protect - isn't solution for everything).
Another thing being sometimes the ownership isn't what it appears to be. Not mentioned, but relevant.
'Kinda of' all comes back to how we can't do things off other people's back who are anyway known to be this way (and profit-driven let's say) and always leveraging something to get us to invest also in tech or another geography's +/-'s in order to get an edge which eventually people . and tech discovers:
"omg we're beeing killing this and didn't evyer realise)... is bad in the long term term end game we are constantly learning later...
Kinda of like (Europe) piping / routing ***everything** through America despite their egregious laws and previous 'efforts' with whistler growler... still feels like people are going for the candy like: 'oooh I can upgrade for double ramm for $8 is something.... just bad leverage in the end.
