@freeschool
The problem with yewtu.be is that it seems to not work all the time. videos I play on youtube work fine but when I try to launch them from yewtu.be, I'm told that the format isn't right. Sometimes the server simply doesn't respond. It's a great idea but it needs to be available and it needs to work if people are going to use it more than every once in a while when it happens to work.

@adamosophy PRIVACY AT THE COST OF COMFORT - TO 1 AND ALL

Maybe you didn't know but there is *ALWAYS* going to be discomfort compared to an 'all you can eat'... '24/7 version' if we do things ourselves or do thing more humbly... because those ways are connected to the bad.
(You can't have all-you-can-eat without waste / eating planet... you can't have 24/7 without heavy electric and mechanical costs somewhere else)

That is why there is an alternate list of servers to help do the privacy filtering again YouTube and Google which deliberately leverage those ways and even encourage people to add zillions of videos (now 1days worth *in* every hour).

So take discomfort as a welcome whipping for takign the best of a bad / far-from-sustainable serive provider like Google

AND if not this 1st link that works for you, just use a 2nd type link or other server name

So 1st yewtu.be/watch?v=5fOJbWtmBFE

and if not then this 2nd link with your video ID

redirect.invidious.io/watch?v= <---with your video ID instead

SO ABOUT ANY DELAY IN CLICKING OR GETTING VIDE 2ST TIME I WOULD SAY (TO EVERYONE)

IT HAPPENS... BUT higher priority is the privacy
and
not helping BigTech get any bigger
(or what do you think? all these videos and ways of providing works / is worth not taking the hit for in some way?)

If you imagine on a ladder the priority and goal then this discomfort of things not working 100% or having to filter things (using the Invidious way) IS the 'cost' we pull back morally and this cost or delay is not as high as preserving the main goal of not letting them rule the world (in short but we're almost there already in a few short years)

Without sound too strict you have to be responsible - even for other people's / Google's bad games.

You must know where your priority is. If it's like "mneh, urgh and oh so long I have wait" then you know you're becoming normalised to what is unrealistic that the companies proivded falsely on on false basis (mass energy / electric and hardware consumption, also coming from politically horrible America legislation and nest of aggressive soldiers and war makers digital or land/resource grabbing).

This is real war and while I don't expect you to take the whole burden or war equally like America - I do expect you to pull up your own pants and even arm yourself with the best and crappiest weapons in effort not to join them.

So any cost under this goal of avoidance / non-participation *should* be see as known pleasures ! :) ! of doing things right / for fun and for better ways since we *cannot* have snooping by providers and money-making schemes based on aggressive privacy which further push in all areas and sectors for life for a worse position (or do you think it's possible by just going with their flow?)
