Is anyone who uses the fediverse *not* autistic? There certainly seem to be a lot of us here. Maybe there's something about the difference between the 'verse, and algorithmic social media, that makes us feel more comfortable here? I wonder if the same thing was true if the pre-web 2.0 internet?

@strypey NOT REALLY AUTISM - JUST NORMAL AVERAGE PEOPLE ONLINE ! :)

I think autism* as a shortcut-word and quick way to reference some people might have as the characteristics
(*which I detail at the end but don't think it's all of them for everyone or extensive as a list)

I wrote a post summarising what I mean here in the reply that basically "Shitposters And 'Normal People' Are Similar?

FOOTNOTES
* Autism might be:
- an 'abnormal' absorption with the self (normal by today's standards by also makes sense as a human)
- communication disorders (not surprising since it's helped in a systematic pattern fill of cutting out communication or time for discussions)

- and short attention span
- inability to treat others as people)

(I don't think all candidates would have all of these at the same time always AND I think it became more of a shorter work as explaining the above is a chore for most people!)
