I’ve done a few replays of Road 96 now, it’s a game designed for replaying. Unfortunately L, replaying it highlights it’s main weakness, your actions don’t really change anything - not at a the local or global level. For instance, there’s a bit where a character asks if you want to escape with them - the expected answer being yes - if you select no they laugh at you and the story continues like you said yes

It’s still good to replay, so you can finish all the character stories, but don’t expect as much variation as the game dialogue seems to promise

That example isn’t the worst btw, it’s just the one that didn’t feature story spoilers.

Also, also - that’s not to say I wouldn’t recommend it, if you want an interesting story and relaxed play style then it’s worth picking up, especially if you have XBox Game Pass

@jonn_blanchard MASTODON POSTING METHOD & STRATEGY !!!!!

INSTANT NOTIFICATIONS AS A WAY OF LIVING LIFE *MORE TOGETHER INSTANTLY* THAN APART but also not posting everything as 'public' level as 'unlisted' is still public and enough for adding to the same thread !

So this is what I would like to write you and others as example below to the above strategy in order not to be overwhelmed and not to disconnect from your posts from sheer mass number of them. This is what I wrote and will half-use for the next person that is ace / fast / intelligent etc!!

"Hey, I like your posts,
I currently use notifications so I get a lot of posts instantly if you send any public post
(which I don't mind kinda if it's a lot but there is an improvement I can suggest that avoids a natural ultimatum of living my life or yours!)

Because both your life and mine are good and this can help 'get more quality from the collection of posts we make at public or unlisted level... so this below is a 'how to' keep both / all of us in the loop!)

Currently I have you with notifications switched on (the bell clicked) and I am now following others bu not in the sense of 100's of people as random and diluted in the Mastodon Home tab too diluted but now I see what people thinking or doing more instantly... (so if you find someone as I have found you of interest we can appreciate them and even engage instead of weeks/years later all the time and actually work / contribute stuff)

So for your posts Johnny it can be 1 public post for main topic / new theme and the rest unlisted inside that.

So it would be good (for me personally) and you I think if it was as a public post for first post then the rest 'unlisted' inside that set of posts - for example
GOT NEW COMPUTER...
1 PICTURE 1
2 COMMENT 1
3 COMMENT 2
4 REPAIR 1
5 REPAIR 2
4 FINAL REPAIR / FINAL COMMENT

and the final one or two posts could be public in order to get my interest again or round it off as a set and close topic somewhat. (all that list as notifications for 1 topic is a lot, it could be only 2 or 3 which is still a lot since you do a lot of computer repair work loooool)

So 1st post and last post public
(loosley not making you do what I say here but without this it's too many posts alerted and yes I think realistically for many people we simply don't re-vist what we backlog in the past (that is piling up for the future and making it too future-weighted)

Just saying this honestly (it was going to be much short Johnny but for others I'd like them to see benefit of instant notification in your posting style).

It's a better middle rather than take you off instant notifications and forget you mostly.

(I was just about to take you off now- but do let me know if you're willing to implement a bit of this as consideration to keep instant-notified followers..,.. else you'll be on my follow list and the home tab I never visit and full of other 'stuff' / completely diluted :/

Thank you for reading and see what you can do sunshine!

Let me know via DM if you take this unkindly and feel free to add what you think here about the method... otherwise continue as you are somewhat and look forward to having posts somewhat reflect each separate topic! :)
Thanks again.

@freeschool I’m not upset, you’re receiving my messages and, as such, you have a right to comment on what you receive and I’m always willing to take constructive criticism like this. However, if this style is a showstopper for you then I’d probably recommend turning off alerts for me, not because I’m unwilling to make the change, but because I’m almost certainly going to forget to

@jonn_blanchard I appreciate your speed in reply and candidness. Consider it not a shame as we did well to talk about it.
You will still have me as a number following but I won't see you in message as from now.
Thanks again, hope to see how it could work in the future. (friendly audio chat or even podcast always a thing for me but again just thanks for now). ✅
