So I've been struggling with disk space on my M1 macbook air (256G), between android + ios development, work and pixelfed development (incl a 16G database) I would have to delete one to work on the other and it's really frustrating, to the point I want to get a new mbp with at least 1 TB of storage.
Tonight I found multiple logs from php and mysql that were 10GB+ in size, oh gosh. Now I'm not constrained by my workflows and I wish I discovered these huge logs sooner 😅
@dansup I have a text list to remind me like a cleaner program as a go-to list to check those non-standard program tmp folders and overflows... or just plain errors or annoyances... not ever to your level of computing but things like this, off the top of my head like:
Video scratch tmp folders
HD Versions
Regular dupes / momentary backups
APK files
Drivers for old comps
Winamp tmp folder!
Website shrapnel
Database copies
Etc etc
Not surprised you or others have MASSIVE DATA occupied, multiple copies, videos in 5 resolutions, HD Versions
A HD video = 2gb just for 2hrs of ppl talking and not much face expression.
Then add all the version 240p, 360p, 480p 720p and just is a huge pyramid of data.
Regularly needs burning / deleting...
