Finally got myself a #DumbPhone again. It's a horrid little toy, not the sort of thing I was hoping to find. But it was the only one I've been able to find in a shop that isn't locked to a cell provider (which is obviously anti-competitive and probably needs to be struck down as an antitrust violation).
But it opens up the possibility of going back to a no WiFi in the bedroom policy. While still having an alarm, reminders about critical appointments, and the ability to receive calls and texts.
I had been researching DumbPhone models for a while, and putting of buying one until I found exactly what I wanted. But I realised I'd been making the perfect the enemy of progression.
If I find something that suits my needs better, I can upgrade. But in the meantime, I can start experimenting with digital hygiene habits (WiFi-free bedroom, a WiFi-free day per week), while still being available in an emergency etc.
