Mastodon. Really liking it so far but I'm concerned about its future.
More and more people are coming over from Twitter, which is great, but also, more and more big accounts such as Stephen Fry (12 mil on Twitter) are finding a place on an instance. Great in theory but imagine you're the admin of said instance. Suddenly, you've got a HUGE burst in bandwidth, and a huge leap in costs, potentially leading to you having to close your instance. Is Mastodon going to be a victim of its own success?

@LordArse massively wealthy celebs with millions of followers need to start thinking of contributing to the community. The reality is that nobody wants the whole of BTS in their server for free. They seem like a cool bunch of guys, but that's too big a problem to have. I'm not hosting a server, I'm just imagining how I'd feel. I'm more than happy to be corrected.
