Took a look on Twitter and quickly found a post harping on about a mastodon "fiefdom" with absurd rules / sign up requirements, then writing off the whole platform based on that single server.
I immediately felt the urge to wade in and try to plead for better informed discourse. The replies were already a mess. I stepped back, closed Twitter, came back here & felt all those awful feelings ebb away.

@wiredfire it’s best that way. Twitter is way too confrontational! Even innocent comments can receive the most aggressive of answers. Best to let it be and not even check the notifications there.
