Honestly, it would be pretty tragic if Ye Birdsite were to implode. I feel like all my "big" connections have migrated over here anyway, but there are a few people I'm gonna miss seeing.
Quite a few of them have newsletters. Which I actually don't mind - data ownership and all that. Web 1.0's coming back!
A fair few people have moved over to Tumblr full-time, so I'm looking forward to Tumblr becoming part of the #Fediverse - hopefully it happens sooner rather than later. (I happen to have a Simblr which I've barely used, so that'll come in handy for now)
@lunarloony I've never used Tumblr. In fact, I don't know much about it other than people post photos there. I'll give it a go sometime.
@gpowerf I could never make head nor tail of it. There's no reply function...or, there wasn't when I last used it properly. As such, a "thread" (as it were) ends up looking like a bunch of stacked up blockquotes. In short: WEIRD.
@lunarloony I felt like this about Discord. I jumped in and jumped out thinking I didn't need to learn how to use something else. It is like playing any fighting game that isn't a Capcom game... too complicated to learn. :)
@icedquinn @gpowerf Admittedly I'm not a massive fan of Discord, but I get a lot of use out of it for Broken Circus-related dealings and a couple of other groups I'm part of.
