When I started in tech 40+ years ago I was baffled how many apparently "smart" people could understand tech deeply, yet not people's complex motivations

Having seen many startup CEOs I'm no longer surprised!

It's a profound lack of imagination and a desire to arsekiss #Musk 🙃

@BrianLinuxing thisi is also why many devs who wish to go into management should not go into management. And also why sometimes the dev who isn't the strogest dev is the most apt for the management role.

@BrianLinuxing essentially we are all different and competence in one area is not a sign that you will be competent in another. Managing people is complex and requires a different skill set than coding.

@BrianLinuxing finally let me say that both management and tech roles should be rewarded handsomely. One role isn't more important than the other.

@gpowerf

Absolutely but I think you should pay people reasonably however power goes to the head and anyone working in technology when I’ve seen that dozens of times.

I’m very lucky I know my limitations and I try to bridge that human bit and the technology, as I understand a little about both but clearly Musk doesn’t and he doesn’t employ anyone to tell him that!
