@StretchCT US wise I don’t know. But it is to be expected that the US market largely favours Tesla which is an American brand. Other American car makers were late to the party and thus production is still low for them. But I see way more brand new Hyundai group EVs where I live in Europe than new Teslas.
@gpowerf I would guess that 5-10% of Americans even know Hyundai has an EV. These are the sales comparisons for this year thru October. Other companies will make inroads though maybe not for a few more years. I like how the EU is handling the transition. The US will mess it up for sure.

@StretchCT I’m not a motor industry person, I’m merely an observer. But in recent years Tesla is nothing but hot air, I see companies like NIO genuinely innovating and doing the sort of cool new things that Tesla used to be known for. I also see companies like Renault, VW, and Hyundai/Kia selling lots of EVs where I live.
@StretchCT Tesla promises and promises and has an ageing lineup with no new models and their sole gimmick is acceleration.
@StretchCT EU is doing well, agreed. UK… slow, but the EU is getting there. And I honestly don’t think the Euro market needs Tesla much.
@StretchCT EV and Tesla shouldn’t be synonymous and a big proportion of car buyers nowadays see the benefits of buying an EV from a tried and tested auto maker than a tech company like Tesla. Simple things like panel fit, ergonomics, paint, styling are all better in a Hyundai car than a Tesla.
