@rocam54@lor.sh quite. But it was always a super risky investment.

Traditionally lots of auto manufacturers have gone bust over the years, and Tesla's lustre at first at least to me was that they were the only EVs that weren't crap boxes. But I always wondered what'd happen to them once you were able to buy a good quality and practical EV from an actual car maker.

I never understood why buying a car from a tech company that struggled with the actual building of the car part (Tesla's are quite simply not very nicely made or styled) was better than buying from a traditional car manufacturer who had a proven track record of building solid and long-lasting vehicles.

I just don't think they are making that compelling a product anymore. I look at Kias and Hyundais and they are just cooler, nicer, and better made! Porsche's Taycan is too! The F-150 Lightning at least exists and the Cybertruck is nowhere.

What does Tesla have? Acceleration... And believe me, I love the idea of hella fast cars but when buying a car to be used every day giving up one or two of seconds 0-60 time (most EVs are stupid fast anyway!) doesn't seem like a huge compromise.
