#retrogaming Q:

Never bothered with Flash Carts before, but I'm looking to (re)build my retro collection and with current prices...I should probably be using a flash cart instead of the games I already own just so I don't damage them.

Is there a simple answer to what brand to use? I'm looking at an Analogue Pocket, but the problem is I have working GBCs, DS, GB SP. But I guess the screen is good.

Can I do video out without the $100 official dock? $250 is already a fair chunk. It's USBC no?

@SirTapTap for most systems if there is an official Everdrive go for that. krikzz.com is the official site.

Be careful though. There are many clones, Krikzz is a very small company and it’s nice for them to get the profits from their hard work rather than the cloners.

For 2600 specifically there is the Uno Cartridge by The Brew Academy. This cartridge is really good! thebrewingacademy.com/products

@gpowerf Sounds like the pocket supports cores that can just load roms directly, thanks for the tip though! I Do plan to get real consoles as well, but trying to take it a bit slow since everything is over 10x more expensive than when College TapTap gave away all his carts because "emulation is better anyway :)"

Now I'm too fussy to even fuck with retroarch

@SirTapTap OK :) I was about to mention that emulation can ve very good too, but now that I know you don't like messing with retroarch I won't :D hehe

@gpowerf Trying to dip my toes back into the real stuff. Emulators are...nice...but yeah, something that can play real carts or a flash cart seems ideal to me right now.

I have an okay collection of carts for GB already but...a flash cart would save me from having to solder batteries into all of em. All dry.
