Today, another much more obscure half-sister under the skin for the #Opel Astra in the form of #MG5 electric estate car. The D2XX platform developed by Opel for the last Astra launched under #GM ownership, the 2015 Astra K, is widely used around the world. A simplified version of D2XX for Asia, GM-PATAC K, provides the underpinnings for the popular (in the UK, anyway) #MG which is produced by the Chinese group #SAIC. Pic. @davidwilkins I have to give SAIC respect for producing affordable EVs that don't look horrible. Sure other than the EV4 they all look kind of generic, but at least they aren't offensive looking and all are spacious cars for the price.
@gpowerf Very good value for money and a sound product (parking for a moment the ethical and other issues involved in buying Chinese). I’ll come back to the MG4 in a few days.
@davidwilkins There are lots of Chinese cars I'd love to have :) In fact, my laptop wallpaper right now is a GWM Tank 300.
