I actually had Facebook set up really well using the SocialFixer browser plugin for filtering, my settings tweaked as far as possible, and a carefully curated set of contacts with whom I mostly have offline friendships. The signal to noise ratio in my feed was really good, mostly original personal content. But the mining of our personal lives was unavoidable and unacceptable, so ... here I am.
