We do not yet know the cause of death (may their memory be a blessing) on the (open) prison boat in Portland harbour, but the moral and political juxtaposition here is stark. It reminds us that, for all the political argy bargy, this is about people - real human lives.

@hesgen look at the state of this island. Someone died on the floating prison which only exists because lying spoiled brats from rich families learned that you can get a decent shot at No. 10 if you can think of ways to launder atrocious far-right talking points into mainstream politics under the guise of “conservative”, and the news breaks right as our parliament is actually debating whether or not immigration law should adhere to international standards put in place to prevent Nazism.
