Still, I challenge you to come up with even one thing of value in this offering from Simon Jenkins, aka Phil Space. To me, it is entirely vacuous: an op-ed dashed off under the duvet before breakfast on copy deadline day.

@hesgen This piece is dire, its sole saving grace being that it's brief.

I don't know how the industry works but this very much felt like doing the bare minimum to meet a quota, and I'm not sure how or why an editor would choose to publish it. There's not a single original thought or meritorious piece of insight in there — and it strays very close to acceptance and distribution of Russian propaganda.
