@grimalkina @LinuxAndYarn @gvwilson true story: the reason that RFCs are still plain text and ascii diagrams is because there’s one dude there who has his symbolically lisp machine set up Just The Way He Wants It, lisp machines don’t have web browsers, modernizing means dealing with him and nobody wants to.
@mhoye @LinuxAndYarn @gvwilson despite the categorical differences this reminds me in a spiritual way of being the only scientist in a huge group of MBAs in my first orientation at a big tech co and the genuinely sweet guys next to me who explained the business school names everyone I was using, and also what they were all learning about each other from each other's shoes and watches, and meanwhile I was wearing a child's LEGO watch because I loved it, hahaha
