Let me rephrase: Hi all, I’m a thin-skinned white guy, who doesn’t ever want to have to be considerate any other person or group. I’m going to take my marbles over to that billionaire’s place where white guys are rule and Jack Dorcy will insist on no moderation, cause what we white guys truly want is the continued colonization of social media.

Why call them out? If they want to leave, they can leave. Speaking only for the instance I'm on, there was no "must stay here forever" clause. Maybe it's different on other instances.
#Mastodon *is* great and I'm loving it, but this sort of post makes it less great - if people want to leave, let them leave.
That said, it's not an airport and you're not an airline, so no need to announce your departure ... 😉
@mattcrwi @VE2UWY Right, I know "it's not an airport and you're not an airline, so no need to announce your departure" is oft repeated because it sounds pithy, but it doesn't make much sense if you think about it. For the most part it is useful if people say that they're leaving, rather than just disappearing. And if you care about the wider ecosystem of the network, then it's also useful if they say why they're leaving. @MiriShuli @Pope
