I wrote a blog about this some time ago, but that was on Windows 10. Things have gotten even worse on Windows 11.

I really loved the old Opera. So I am a happy Vivaldi user now. It was sad finding that the Android 5 on my tablet was not supported anymore. Can't blame you, it's an old beast, but I like it 😞

Edge is probably the best browser MS has made, but its features don't seem to fit well together. And their side panel implementation is terrible. Last time I tried, I couldn't even resize it! And the tracking. The nagging.
Microsoft best things have always been programming tools. Their browsers, OSs and office suites have always been a rollercoaster. To top it, marketing people at MS seem to be in a rampage as of late. The UX dark patterns you describe are a very obvious example.

On the other hand, Vivaldi is always getting better and greater. Without Vivaldi and Firefox this would be a darker web.

@jgg , thank you for your support. It is great to have users like you that have been with us for a long time.

We try our best to continue to improve.

When it comes to OS support, we are kind of dependent on everyone else there. We cannot realistically support a platform the rest of the Chromium community has abandoned. I hope you are able to update the OS on your device.

Seems the only major browser still supporting it is Firefox. Thank you for the years of support anyway, you lasted much more than Samsung: they stopped updates 6 years ago.
And to top it, your browser has cost 400€ less 😅
