The paradox of large teams at big companies — the larger they are, the less they get done.

20 engineers can out-execute 200 engineers because the smaller team is focused by their constraints. Large teams have no constraints and try to do everything but end up doing nothing well.

That's bad project management. A good leader breaks up projects in smaller ones, making them behave as independent ( but coordinated) smaller teams. And makes sure each team member has a clear role and specific duties inside the team, with some leeway if need arises.

Divide and conquer all the way, from team management to the last line of code. Everything else is madness.
