Hi all, I'm Torstein. Happy to be here.

Allow me to introduce myself: I'm a Java, Python and BASH coder who have been using Emacs every day since 2000 and love it to bits. Use it for most things, here showing my current "lspemacs" with:

- Outlook calendar
- Org notes with time tracking + report
- Java coding using LSP
- BASH coding using LSP
- My .emacs (had this one file with me for two decades now 🙂 )

I'm currently on Arch Linux, after many years (20+) running Debian.

@skybert hi Torstein! 👋 Which Python LSP-Server works best for you in Emacs?

@datenschauer Hi! I'm currently using github.com/emacs-lsp/lsp-pyrig (before that, I used `lsp-python-ms`, but that has since been deprecated).

@skybert @datenschauer I have found that pyright doesn’t provide snippet completion (tabbing between function arguments after completing the function name) when used with eglot. However, I do get this functionality with pypi.org/project/jedi-language.
How this helps!

@jsy1001 @datenschauer sounds interesting. Haven't tried jedi, yet. Are there more advantages to jedi over pyright?

@skybert @datenschauer I’m afraid I haven’t explored Jedi’s features properly yet. There are comprehensive docs if you’d like to dig deeper: jedi.readthedocs.io/en/latest/
