@wklj I really, really hope not… but I have interviewed folks who’ve had red flags like this, so I have to assume it is.

@wklj @lorihc idk, this sounds way too close to home to a few interviews I’ve done. Some people seem to have zero humility :S

@axiixc @wklj @lorihc I've had someone answer to a question I asked on an interview with "oh that's below my pay grade" [Narrator: it wasn't below their pay grade]

@lorihc unbelievable oh gosh 🫠 I can only hope this is satire 😅

@lorihc HhahahHAHA!

"She seemed fine with it and we moved on with the interview."

Aaahhahaahaha. HAHA.

This person has the soft skills of a tungsten cube.

@lorihc I’m a little annoyed that the guy’s name wasn’t given, as I sometimes interview candidates and there is a non-zero chance this guy’s resume will come my way.

I’d prefer to round-file it and save all parties involved the trouble.

@jeff @lorihc There are many of that guy in this industry. You have to hone your interviewing skills to spot them. I once asked a person about working with teams like QA and he called them “button pressers who make his life more difficult just so they can file bugs”. It’s been a decade+ and I haven’t forgotten that lunch.

@bgannin @lorihc I’ve been either picked up the skill to find them, work in a subset of the industry that doesn’t attract them, or have just been remarkably lucky.

While I haven’t always made 100% perfect hiring decisions, nobody I’ve interviewed — let alone given a green light to —so far has been anywhere near as toxic as this guy.

@lorihc I know of this interview question, but I never saw or thought it could ever catch anyone that soundly. Damn....

@lorihc @ktoso The columnist's response was its own kind of revenge porn.

I hope there's a follow-up column with the OPs inevitable argumentative pursuit.

@lorihc if this is legit and this guy really didn't understand what was wrong about those interactions, I feel sorry for him, but even more sorry for those who've worked with him.

@lorihc Wow, reading that letter felt like watching a train derailment… just kept getting worse and worse

@twostraws @lorihc “I still thought it was weird to interview with my boss’s boss.” What the heck? This person seems hilariously clueless.

@twostraws @lorihc I know at least one sr. woman who has interviewed this guy’s (spirit) cousins

@lorihc I can’t believe this is real - but even if it isn’t, it’s just gold as setup for that magnificent reply.

@lorihc oh my, my only hope is that that's a spoof! Otherwise I'm just going to have to assume that that individual is *very* junior, and has a serious cocaine problem.

@lorihc haha wow “they interviewed me about my soft skills” (and I promptly showed them that I completely lack soft skills)

@lorihc I can think of at least one mistake that guy made.

@lorihc was the letter writer Dwight Schrute?

Yikes.

Talk about being arrogant and self oblivious.
