Lose a job? U've couple of opportunities. Look for:
1_ better job, w better pkg.
2_ worse job, w/ lesser pkg.
3_ Start a small business that needs little capital.
Personally I've had #1 a few times in my career, & #2 couple of times when going for #1.
My next turn will be #3.

@livestradamus if not bitcoin friendly, then at least maybe friendly with electronic transactions- find a online bank or credit union that dabbles with crypto or find some other flow of exchange. I'm sure it can be done but haven't recently spent too much time mulling it over. I know for a fact though that there are banks that take crypto.
@lucifargundam nearing mid-40's, started working part time from age 16-17, afterwards full time until now. I tried University but higher learning wasn't for me.
I left the US for better jobs.
