As our kids go #BackToSchool, never forget that we ARE the traffic that we’re using as an excuse. If more walked, biked or rode transit to school, it would erase a massive number of car trips each day, and our kids would be safer, healthier and better at school.

Anyone who walks around here should be armed- as it's assumed all sidewalk homeless are ready to shank you for no reason.
I envy your enthusiasm.
That is only while nobody is walking there.
You will be surprised how quickly the place becomes safe when people start walking on those streets again. The unsafety is caused by a lack of people.
You can be part of the solution, or you can let the problem fester.
