I’m not concerned about what might happen to Twitter under its new owner - as far as I’m concerned, the whole thing can go die in a fire.
What worries me is that, as the site goes from a source of news to a right-wing hellscape, the media might continue to amplify the increasingly crass faschist messages there simply for excitement value, similar to the coverage of Trump’s 2018 campaign.

@slothrop That's a really good point. I never thought of the possibility that the media might still take Twitter seriously even as Elon causes the site to burn hotter and hotter with awfulness.
I'd like to think that journalists would pick up on this at some point and flee, but who the heck knows at this point.
