I'm feeling increasing limited by the lack of a good QT feature. I just inadvertently hijacked someone else's post with a tangential point that I ended up having to make as a reply. QT would have avoided that and allowed me to cite the original.

@mattblaze There are other Fediverse servers that have QTs. Heck, my instance has QTs because it's a Mastodon fork.

@mathlover @mattblaze I was just like “Hey, it’s open source. We can just fork it and add QT, while ensuring any changes are backwards compatible with the main fork.” Then I’m like “There’s no way I could personally do this as I haven’t really done any hardcore coding in probability 20 years.” But it looks like there’s something already like that. Thanks @mathlover. Now to get @jerry in on it. ;)

@grecs @mathlover @mattblaze QT, better search, real DM’s, and giphy integration are my goals. I fear that we will need to create a fork, however. No QT and inhibited search are fairly intentional design points
