@thor WOW - An incredible effect, and an incredible view - Norway is really a magical place

@kettlevoid not sure if this image is taken in North Norway or some other arctic area, but we do have many scenic views. up north, they're not the deep fjords and pointy mountains you see elsewhere, but still some striking landscapes.
@kettlevoid being a photographer in Norway is almost cheating because there are scenic views everywhere and we kind of take them for granted at times.

@mur2501 @thor didn't know there were still people on those, except miners

@kettlevoid @mur2501 these areas aren't very populated. this county i'm now is the northernmost on the mainland. ~76k people live here, in an area the size of Denmark, Slovakia or the Dominican Republic...
@kettlevoid @mur2501 i think the situation is similar in most arctic areas. humans are generally not attracted to these regions. Scandinavia on the whole is relatively sparsely populated. on the plus side, it's pretty peaceful here, and finding a place to be alone
isn't hard.

@thor @mur2501 But yeah, i know what you mean. It's strange that sometimes the regions that attract us are sometimes dangerous for long term living, like river & seasides (due to floods)

@thor @kettlevoid
While in Mumbai 20 million people are squeezed inside an area 1/3 of London :blobcatsadlife:

@kettlevoid @thor
It was a mining island but now mostly it's all researchers. Also alot of Russians living there too.
