CORONA DEMONSTRATION IN COPENHAGEN
Hundreds gathered in Copenhagen on Saturday, in protest against the Danish government's corona restrictions and plans for a digital vaccine passport.
Around 600 gathered in front of the Folketing to protest against "dictatorial" lockdown measures. Many are angry because of plans to introduce a so-called vaccine passport, as Denmark and several other European countries plan to do.
The organizers believe that such a passport implies that it is mandatory to be vaccinated, and constitute further restrictions on personal freedom.
As in Norway, it is voluntary to be vaccinated in Denmark.
The demonstrators marched with torches through the center of the Danish capital, shouting that they "have had enough" and "freedom for Denmark". Some carried a picture of Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, which was made to look like North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un.
Non-essential shops, bars and restaurants are closed in Denmark. The measures are currently valid until the end of February. From Monday, students up to 4th grade can return to school. (NTB)
