My 2.5 mile walk will eventually take me past the area circled, but first I have to go down a steep hill and back up the other side...
I often wonder if it would be nice to live along here (road access at the rear of the properties but I’d be forever paranoid if I heard noises outside.

Many villagers and forest dwellers in India keep mongooses as kinda pets cause they hunt snakes
@mur2501 This may be a silly question, but can a mongoose be petted? Are they approachable?

They are harmless and friendly towards humans but their fur is thick, pointy and hard (cause that protects them from snake bites) so petting them wouldn't be as satisfying as petting a floofy animal.
By the way Mongooses are distant relatives of Minks.
@mur2501 No good as a pet then- our dog lights to play with our cat, so that could end badly with a mongoose 😮
@mur2501 I don’t think I’d like that. Two kids in the house are difficult enough 😮😂
