Honestly, the trend where gaming desks don't even have a dedicated spot to hold a PC tower is such a bizarre oversight.

@mur2501 @sean this folding table costs 50$. i have had the thing for five or more years by this point. every time i go to re-evaluate it against a "proper" desk it ends up the proper desk is 200$+ but is just some particleboard bullshit. i did replace it with a 200$ kitchen work table because it looked higher quality, but after the third time it drew blood/bruises i fired it and brought this table back.

@icedquinn @mur2501 @sean currently rocking the plastic table as well -- what I actually want doesn't seem to exist. All metal, rigid, rackmounts under the main surface, can be dis/reassembled entirely with a socket set, PC tower slot(s)
@icedquinn @slowfallinward @mur2501 @sean you can build something like this without cnc. if you want to build stuff like this start with a hand drill, an angle grider for ~ $100, a framing square and a few other hand tools.
if you want to weld it,get a cheap mig welder with flux core wire for ~ $200
once you have those basic tools for < $300 you can build really soild heavy duty furniture with metal and plywood tops. home depot will cut sheets of plywood down for you for free.
