The Lord of The Rings is a pretty bulky book. The entire set is over 1100 pages long!
But it's one of the best written books, ever! The Hobbit, too! 📚

Haha!
Harry Potter vs The Lord of The Rings be like Xmpp vs Matrix! 😂
Both series are well written.
I think LOTR was harder to write.
Before HP was written, a lot of magic, fantasy, elves, wizards and that stuff already existed.
But, for LOTR, Tolkien had to create something totally new, from scratch. (as per my knowledge, as I haven't come across anything in that genre before Tolkien's works!)
HP movies are decent, too, but I can't compare them with LOTR movies, as I haven't seen them! 😌
@strawberryfieldsforever
Well HP is light to read as the language is simpler (cause J K Rowling wrote it as a childrens book). LOTR is a harder read if you struggle English.
@mur2501
Yup! Agreed!
LOTR can be very hard to read.
It can also get a little slow, and has elaborate descriptions in many places.
It is a classic, after all! 😁
It took me 5 and a half months to read it! 😁
Worth reading, though!
@strawberryfieldsforever
I have read more classic then that: War & Peace by Tolstoy
as well as Anna Karenina also by Tolstoy (I like to read about Russia)
@strawberryfieldsforever
my reading is Tolstoy, Dickens, Agatha Christie, Sherlock Holmes, as well as various history and biography books. Last I read the biography of Catherine the Great.
@mur2501
And JK Rowling? 😁
Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie are excellent!
Imagine, even today (recently) their writings are being adapted into movies! 😎
But some books of Agatha can be terribly dragging! 😃
